Recap: Auburn vs. LSU

Auburn, AL (Sports Network) - Allen Payne led the way with 15 points as the Auburn Tigers held on to defeat the LSU Tigers, 68-63, in SEC action at Auburn Arena.

Payne also recorded four assists in the Auburn (7-7, 1-0 SEC) victory. Shaquille Johnson tallied 11 points and nine rebounds, while Frankie Sullivan scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Tigers won their second game in a row.

For LSU (9-3, 0-1), Charles Carmouche tied a game-high with 15 points and added six rebounds. Anthony Hickey and Andre Stringer scored 13 points apiece for the Tigers, who snapped a two-game winning streak.

Despite Auburn starting out the game on a 7-0 run, LSU battled back to take a 28-27 advantage at the half.

Auburn took control in the second half by making 53.8 percent of its field goal attempts, including 3-of-7 from long-range, while limiting LSU to 36.1 percent from the field.

Auburn outscored LSU from the foul line, 12-4.
