Recap: Georgia vs. Southern Miss

Athens, GA (Sports Network) - With 31 seconds left on the clock in overtime, Michael Craig stole the ball from Vincent Williams and passed it to Dwayne Davis who made a layup to give the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles a 62-60 OT victory over the Georgia Bulldogs at Stegeman Coliseum.

Davis recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Golden Eagles (2-0) in the win. Jerrold Brooks added 17 points off five 3-pointers for Southern Miss.

Ken Caldwell-Pope scored 17 points but was 3-of-14 from beyond the arc in the loss for the Bulldogs (1-2). Nemanja Djurisic tallied 12 points for Georgia who had no other players in double-figures.

The Eagles led 31-27 at the end of the first half after shooting 59.1 percent from the field.

The Bulldogs tied the game with 1:26 left when Djurisic hit a jumper and with neither team able to score during the final minute the game went to overtime.

The lead went back and forth in overtime until Davis made the layup to put Southern Miss on top 62-60 with half a minute left. Caldwell-Pope shot and missed a three-pointer with :05 seconds left, got his own rebound and pulled up again. but was blocked by Craig.
