Recap: Texas A&M vs. Ole Miss

College Station, TX (Sports Network) - Elston Turner poured in 37 points as the Texas A&M Aggies held on to defeat the Ole Miss Rebels, 69-67, in Southeastern Conference action at Reed Arena.

Turner knocked down a career-high seven 3-pointers for the Aggies (15-9, 5-6 SEC). Fabyon Harris contributed 13 points and three steals. Ray Turner was two points shy of a double-double with 13 rebounds for Texas A&M which has won two of its last three games.

For the Rebels (18-6, 7-4), Reginald Buckner recorded a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 15 boards. Derrick Millinghaus and LaDarius White added 13 and 12 points, respectively. Marshall Henderson and Murphy Holloway contributed 10 points apiece as Ole Miss lost for the fourth time in its last five games.

In the first half both teams got identical production from the floor as Texas A&M hit 13-of-22 shots from the field and a perfect 5-of-5 from long range while Ole Miss connected on 13-of-27 attempts including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc. A 7-4 edge in points from the free-throw line allowed the Rebels to take a 38-35 lead at the break.

Texas A&M had an eight-point lead, 65-57, with 5:28 remaining but an 8-2 run from the Rebels cut the Aggies' advantage to just two, 67-65, with 44 seconds left on a Millinghaus layup. The Aggies took control of the ball and let most of the shot clock run out before Turner nailed a jumper with 16 seconds on the clock to push them up by four. Millinghaus hit a pair of free-throws on the other end but failed to convert on a desperation heave at the buzzer after Turner missed the front end of a one-and-one attempt.

Texas A&M made 45.8 percent from the floor including 8-of-16 beyond the arc, while limiting Ole Miss to a mere 5-of-19 from 3-point range on the night.
