Recap: Houston vs. Texas A&M

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Elston Turner scored 26 points to help lead the Texas A&M Aggies to a 70-59 win over the Houston Cougars at Hofheinz Pavilion.

Turner was 10-of-21 from the field and knocked down four 3-pointers for the Aggies (6-1) in their third straight win. Ray Turner managed a double- double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Kourtney Roberson added 14 points and seven rebounds. Alex Caruso dished out a game-high seven assists.

J.J. Thompson led the Cougars (5-2) with 16 points as they lost their second consecutive game. Danuel House scored 10 points and cleared six rebounds while Jherrod Stiggers scored 12 points off the bench as he shot 4-of-8 beyond the arc.

A&M led 42-24 at the break after shooting 61.3 percent from the field and holding the Cougars to 33.3 percent shooting.

Houston shot 48.0 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored the Aggies 35-28, but were unable to complete the comeback.

The Aggies absolutely dominated the inside as they outscored Houston 40-14 in the paint and outrebounded the hosts 40-26.
