Recap: Nebraska vs. Northwestern

Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Dylan Talley produced 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a 64-49 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats in a Big Ten Conference matchup at the Bob Devaney Sports Center.

Brandon Ubel registered a double-double for Nebraska (11-10, 2-6 Big Ten) with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Ray Gallegos netted 11 points to help the Cornhuskers win for the second time in three games.

Dave Sobolewski went 8-of-16 from the field to net a team-best 21 points for the Wildcats (12-9, 3-5). Jared Swopshire notched a double-double of 11 points and 16 boards, but the other three starters combined to go just 4-of-21 from the floor.

Both sides were cold in the opening period. Nebraska took a narrow 24-22 lead into the intermission despite hitting only 37 percent of its field goal attempts and just 1-of-4 at the charity stripe in the first half. Northwestern converted just 32 percent of its attempts from the floor before the break.

The Wildcats continued to struggle after halftime as they went 3-of-19 from 3- point range. The Cornhuskers ran away to a 15-point decision by shooting 54.2 percent in the second stanza.

Although both teams were guilty of 11 miscues apiece, Nebraska outscored the Wildcats, 14-5, in points off of turnovers.
