Sobolewski shot 5-of-11 from the floor, including 3-of-7 from three-point range, to go along four assists for Northwestern (8-3). Reggie Hearn contributed 15 points, while Tre Demps and Jared Swopshire added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Texas State (4-7) was paced by Joel Wright and Wesley Davis, who both tallied 19 points. Matt Staff recorded 10 points, nine rebounds, and five assists in the setback.
