Recap: Baylor vs. Oklahoma State

Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Pierre Jackson scored 18 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Baylor Bears posted a 64-54 win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in a Big 12 Conference showdown at the Ferrell Center.

A.J. Walton added 13 points for the Bears (13-5, 4-1 Big 12) as they won for the fifth time in the last six outings. Working hard in the paint were Cory Jefferson and Isaiah Austin, the former posting 11 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots, the latter contributing 10 points, 14 rebounds and another five rejections.

The Cowboys (12-5, 2-3) were paced by Le'Bryan Nash who tallied a game-high 24 points, followed by Michael Cobbins and Marcus Smart with 12 points apiece. Smart also accounted for 10 boards and seven assists as the team bowed for the second time in the last three contests.

Smart opened the game with a 3-pointer, but after that OSU then fell behind by double figures. However, the Cowboys responded late and thanks to a jumper by Nash with under one minute remaining in the first half it was the visitors who carried a 28-27 advantage into the break.

In the second half both teams shot under 40 percent from the floor, but while Oklahoma State connected on a mere 1-of-8 beyond the arc, Baylor made good on 6-of-14 on the perimeter in order to pull off the double-digit win.

The Bears held OSU to just 34.9 percent success from the floor and 2-of-16 from the outside on the evening.

Dating back to the 2010-11 season, Oklahoma State has a record of just 1-19 in conference road games. OSU has not had a winning record on the road in Big 12 play since the 2003-04 campaign when the squad was 6-2 in such outings.
