Recap: Iowa State vs. Texas

Ames, IA (Sports Network) - Georges Niang scored 18 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Iowa State Cyclones blew away the Texas Longhorns, 82-62, in Big 12 Conference play at Hilton Coliseum.

Will Clyburn filled his stat line with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Cyclones (11-4, 1-1 Big 12), followed by Tyrus McGee with 15 points off the bench and Korie Lucious with 10 and nine assists. Melvin Ejim managed just 1-of-7 shooting from the floor as he tallied seven points and a game-high 10 boards as the Cyclones extended their home-court win streak to 16 in a row.

The Longhorns (8-8, 0-3) were paced by Jonathan Holmes and Julien Lewis with 15 points apiece, the former adding nine rebounds for the visitors as they suffered their third loss in a row. Ioannis Papapetrou responded with 13 points and seven boards in the setback.

Texas led by a basket early in the meeting, but the squad allowed ISU to make good on 7-of-17 shots behind the 3-point line in the first half, resulting in a 42-31 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Longhorns simply couldn't find the mark from the perimeter, connecting on just 1-of-9 from the outside, en route to the disappointing 20-point loss.

In addition to holding Texas to only 39.3 percent shooting from the field and 4-of-18 beyond the arc, the Cyclones finished with a mere five turnovers on the day.
