Recap: Iowa State vs. Texas Tech

Ames, IA (Sports Network) - Melvin Ejim recorded a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Iowa State Cyclones defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders, 86-66, in Big 12 Conference action at Hilton Coliseum.

Will Clyburn and Chris Babb put up 17 points apiece for the Cyclones (19-8, 9-5 Big 12). Tyrus McGee added 13 points and seven rebounds as Iowa State moved to a three-game winning streak.

For the Red Raiders (9-16, 2-12), Josh Gray scored a game-high 20 points. Jaye Crockett recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards. Dejan Kravic chipped in 10 points as Texas Tech continued lost its eighth straight.

In the first half, Iowa State made 48 percent from the floor including 5-of-12 beyond the arc. Texas Tech was held to a mere 3-of-11 on 3-point attempts as Iowa State took a 36-29 advantage before the break.

In the second, Texas Tech made only 11-of-23 from the foul line and 11-of-29 (.379) from the floor. Iowa State made 50 percent from the floor and 16-of-20 free throws, en route to the 20-point victory.

Texas Tech committed 25 personal fouls. Iowa State controlled the boards, 43-31.
