Recap: Oklahoma vs. Texas

Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Romero Osby registered a career-high 29 points as the Oklahoma Sooners held off the Texas Longhorns, 73-67, in a Big 12 Conference matchup at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Osby knocked down 10-of-11 shots at the free-throw line and also pulled down eight rebounds for the Sooners (13-4, 4-1 Big 12) as they won for the sixth time in seven outings. Amath M'Baye responded with 15 points and Buddy Hield 12 in the triumph.

Winless in five chances in conference play now, the Longhorns (8-10, 0-5) were paced by Sheldon McClellan with 25 points off the bench, followed by Ioannis Papapetrou with 12 points as they bowed for the fifth time in as many games.

Texas, which shot just 2-of-8 behind the three-point line in the first half, also missed its only free-throw attempt in the frame, yet trailed by just four points at the break, 30-26.

The Longhorns finished the first half without Jonathan Holmes who injured his hand and was subsequently held out of the second half as well.

In the second half Oklahoma's lead ballooned to 12 points as the squad converted 54.2 percent from the floor and 15-of-21 at the charity stripe in order to secure the six-point victory.

Not only was Texas forced into 15 turnovers, the team was also outscored at the line by a 21-7 margin on the night.
