Recap: TCU vs. SMU

Fort Worth, TX (Sports Network) - SMU moves to 2-0 under coach Larry Brown's reign as the Mustangs defeated TCU, 64-61, at Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.

Jalen Jones scored 21 points to go with eight rebounds as he led the Mustangs (2-0) to victory. He was joined in double-figure scoring by Ryan Manuel who had 16 points and Nick Russell who added 12.

Garlon Green just missed a double-double as he recorded 20 points and nine rebounds for TCU (2-1) in its loss. Jarvis Ray added 14 points and Nate Butler Lind recorded 10 off the bench.

SMU led the entire first half and took a 33-26 lead into the break after hitting 4-of-8 3-point attempts.

TCU battled back in the second half, shooting 50.0 percent from the field, but despite the Mustangs missing their last five free throw attempts, the Horned Frogs fell short 64-61.

The Mustangs outscored the Horned Frogs both from the free throw line (18-8) and from beyond the arc (18-9).
