Recap: Texas vs. TCU

Austin, TX (Sports Network) - Sheldon McClellan led the way with 15 points as the Texas Longhorns defeated the TCU Horned Frogs, 60-43, in a Big 12 Conference battle at the Erwin Center.

For the Longhorns (10-11, 2-6 Big 12), Ioannis Papapetrou just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Connor Lammert chipped in with 10 points.

Adrick McKinney led the Horned Frogs (9-12, 0-8) with 13 points and Connell Crossland pulled down 12 rebounds.

Texas shot very well to start the contest, connecting on 50 percent of its field goal tries, including 1-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc, as it took a 32-20 lead into the break. Texas held TCU to just 33.3 percent shooting from the field. The Horned Frogs missed all five of their 3-point tries in the half.

After the break, the Longhorns stayed hot from the field, knocking down 55 percent of their shots, including 2-of-5 from 3-point distance. The Horned Frogs continued to struggle with their shooting, making only 32.1 percent of their field goal tries. Texas scored the first nine points of the half to push their lead to 19 points. TCU would get no closer than nine the rest of the way, as the Longhorns cruised to victory and kept the Horned Frogs winless in league play this season.

Texas had the edge on points in the paint, 30-22. TCU outrebounded Texas 33-30.
