Recap: Chaminade vs. Texas

Maui, HI (Sports Network) - De'Andre Haskins poured in 32 points as the Chaminade Silverswords stunned the Texas Longhorns 86-73 during the Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center.

Haskins dropped in 7-of-11 shots and made 14-of-15 attempts from the free throw line as Chaminade (3-1) won just its seventh game at the Maui Invitational since it began in 1984. Kevin Hu also added 16 points for the Silverswords.

Javan Felix led Texas (2-1) with 17 points while Sheldon McClellan had 14 and Julien Lewis and Jonathan Holmes each finished with 10 points a piece.

Both team's struggled in the first half with Chaminade netting 9-of-32 shot attempts while Texas put in 9-of-23. With a 12-3 edge from the 3-point line the Silverswords led 31-27 heading into the break.

The Silverswords pulled away in the second half by shooting at a 48.0 percent clip while outscoring the Longhorns 25-9 from the free throw line over the final 20 minutes.

Free throws were the difference in the game with Chaminade outscoring the Longhorns 34-17 from the charity stripe. The Silverswords also had a 43-35 edge on the boards.
