Recap: Texas vs. Texas State

Austin, TX (Sports Network) - Javan Felix scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Texas Longhorns to a 75-63 victory over the Texas State Bobcats at the Frank Erwin Center.

Jonathan Holmes recorded his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 boards for Texas (6-4), which also got a career-high 11 rebounds off the bench from Connor Lammert. Julien Lewis dropped 13 points while Sheldon McClellan added 10 points and eight boards.

Texas State (4-6) was led by Matt Staff who scored 15 points and went 6-of-6 from the free throw line. Reid Koenen added 10 points off the bench as the Bobcats lost for the sixth time in their last eight games.

Texas took advantage of 10 Bobcats' turnovers in the first half and led 36-25 at the break. The Longhorns also got a spark from Lammert who dropped in seven points before halftime.

The Bobcats fought back and trailed by just four with 6:09 remaining in the game when Texas went on an 11-3 run to pull away. The Longhorns scored 20 points in the paint and 13 points off of turnovers in the second half.

Texas improves to 42-5 all-time over its in-state rival and has won 24 consecutive matchups.
