Recap: Texas Tech vs. West Virginia

Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Eron Harris led all scorers with 18 points, and the West Virginia Mountaineers earned a 77-61 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 Conference action at United Spirit Arena.

Reserves Aaric Murray and Juwan Staten chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the victory. Gary Browne also scored 11 for the Mountaineers (10-11, 3-5 Big 12), who shot a season-high 56.5 percent from the floor to notch only their second road victory of the 2012-13 campaign.

Ty Nurse scored 14 points and Jaye Crockett added 13 off the bench for the Red Raiders (9-10, 2-6), who have lost six of their last seven games. Josh Gray and Jordan Tolbert rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points apiece.

The Mountaineers took the crowd out of it early, as they opened the game with a 16-4 spurt. However, Tech answered right back with a 10-0 run and eventually went into the locker room trailing by three at halftime, 34-31.

Harris scored 15 of his 18 points after halftime to help WVU pull away, as the Mountaineers shot 65 percent from the floor and made 4-of-6 3-pointers over the final 20 minutes. Clinging to a 59-55 lead, WVU put the game away with a 12-1 run to go up by 15 with three minutes to play.

The Mountaineers were a deadly 10-of-18 from beyond the arc for the game, and they further helped their cause by scoring 27 points off 22 Tech turnovers.
