Recap: Oregon vs. Arizona State

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Tony Woods tallied 14 points, including a crucial basket in the final minutes, as the Oregon Ducks held on to defeat the Arizona State Sun Devils, 68-65, in Pac-12 Conference play at Matthew Knight Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Ducks (14-2, 3-0 Pac-12), who recorded their fifth win in a row and ninth in their last 10 outings, were Damyean Dotson and Carlos Emory. Both posted 14 points, followed by Dominic Artis with 10 for the hosts.

Leading the way for Arizona State (14-3, 3-1), which had a six-game win streak snapped, was Jahii Carson with a game-high 20 points. Evan Gordon contributed 17 and Carrick Felix finished with 12 points.

Trailing by a score of 19-11 in the first half, the Ducks put together a 12-0 run in order to assume the lead and eventually carry a 32-28 advantage into the break. ASU didn't help itself any by turning the ball over eight times in the final nine minutes of the frame.

The Ducks asserted themselves at the free-throw line in the final minute of action, as they converted all but one of their eight opportunities in order to secure the three-point win. ASU had an opportunity to send the meeting into overtime, but Felix's 3-point attempt at the buzzer missed the mark.

Oregon is now tied with Marquette and Indiana for the sixth-longest home winning streak in the nation at 18 games, and the squad's 12-0 mark at Matthew Knight Arena represents the program's best home start in more than a decade.

The win for Oregon also comes just three days after the team sent unbeaten Arizona to its first loss of the campaign with a 70-66 victory.
