Recap: Texas-El Paso vs. Tulsa

El Paso, TX (Sports Network) - D'Andre Wright scored a career-high 25 points off the bench as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane held off the Texas-El Paso Miners, 74-70, in a Conference USA matchup at the Don Haskins Center.

Wright also added eight rebounds for Tulsa (13-11, 5-5 C-USA), which had lost its previous three games. Kauri Black chipped in 13 points for the Golden Hurricane, Rashad Ray netted 12 points, and Scottie Haralson handed out eight assists.

For UTEP (13-9, 6-3), Konner Tucker scored 17 points and McKenzie Moore poured in 14 points off the bench. Jacques Streeter had 11 points, Julian Washburn pitched in 10 points, and Cedrick Lang tallied eight points and 15 rebounds for the Miners, who had won back-to-back games coming into tonight's matchup.

Tulsa dominated the first half, outshooting UTEP from the field, 51.9 percent to 25 percent, as it took a 35-27 lead at intermission. The Miners were able to keep the game close by shooting 12-of-17 from the foul line in the opening 20 minutes.

The Miners improved after the break, and thanks to a 15-6 run, they took a 51-50 lead with just under 10 minutes to play. After exchanging a few leads, Tulsa broke a 58-58 tie on a Haralson 3-pointer with 3:57 to play, and it never surrendered its advantage from there.

Tulsa outscored UTEP in the paint, 34-24.
