Recap: Utah vs. Arizona State

Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Jason Washburn tied his career-high with 26 points and grabbed nine rebounds to propel the Utah Utes to a 60-55 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Pac-12 Conference battle at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Jordan Loveridge added 13 points for Utah (11-13, 3-9 Pac-12) as it snapped a two-game losing streak.

Carrick Felix notched a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds for ASU (18-7, 7-5), which came into the contest just one game out of first place in the conference standings. Jahii Carson chipped in 12 points but also finished with just one assist to six turnovers. Chris Colvin provided a spark off the bench with 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists.

Utah played very well in the first half as it outscored the visitors, 18-6, in the paint and shot 52.2 percent from the floor en route to a 29-22 halftime lead. The Sun Devils trailed at the break after making only 34.6 percent of their shots from the field in the opening 20 minutes.

ASU heated up to sink 44.8 percent of its field goal tries after the intermission while the Utes cooled off to go just 7-of-19 from the floor. The Sun Devils looked to be in control as they held a 53-47 lead with three minutes left before the final buzzer, but the Utes answered with seven unanswered points, four of which came from Washburn, to go back on top for good. Washburn and Jarred DuBois combined to go 4-of-4 at the charity stripe in the closing 30 seconds to secure the win.

The Sun Devils lost despite holding a 33-30 edge in rebounding and outscored the hosts, 13-6, in second chance points.

2014-15 San Jose Sharks Preview

In another move that bucks tradition, the Sharks completely revamped their on- ice leadership structure not by selecting new players to wear the precious singular letters on their uniforms, but by stripping the captaincy from Joe Thornton, removing the alternate tag from Patrick Marleau and leaving the other "A" vacant after Dan Boyle signed as a free agent with the Rangers.
