Recap: California vs. UC Santa Barbara

Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Tyrone Wallace had a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds as the California Golden Bears knocked off the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, 68-59, in a non-conference tilt at Haas Pavilion.

Robert Thurman scored a team-high 14 points for California (7-3) which snapped a three-game losing streak. Allen Crabbe added 12 points and David Kravish chipped in 10 points.

Kyle Boswell scored 12 points off the bench and Taran Brown and Nate Garth each contributed 11 points for UC Santa Barbara (4-6). Alan Williams scored eight points on just 4-of-18 shooting and brought down 12 rebounds.

California led 32-22 at halftime despite shooting just 36.8 percent from the field as UC Santa Barbara managed to connect on only 29.6 percent of its field goal attempts.

The Golden Bears improved to 51.9 percent shooting in the second half. The Gauchos hit seven 3-pointers to remain within striking distance but a 35.9 percent shooting effort overall kept them from closing the gap.

UC Santa Barbara lost despite outscoring California by a 39-18 margin from 3-point range.
