Recap: UCLA vs. California

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Kyle Anderson had a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds as the UCLA Bruins kept rolling with a 79-65 win over the California Golden Bears in each team's Pac-12 opener at Pauley Pavilion.

Shabazz Muhammad added 16 points, Travis Wear contributed 15 and Norman Powell chipped in 10 off the bench for UCLA (11-3, 1-0 Pac-12). Larry Drew handed out nine assists and had a pair of steals for the Bruins who have won six straight.

Allen Crabbe had a game-high 21 points for California (8-5, 0-1). Justin Cobbs added 12 points and Richard Solomon had an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double. David Kravish had 12 rebounds and was a point shy of a double-double of his own.

After the first 20 minutes UCLA led 38-28 after shooting just 41.2 percent from the field. California fell behind by hitting on just 37.1 percent of its shots including misses on all six attempts from beyond the arc.

The Bruins heated up to 50 percent shooting in the second half and had a 16-3 edge in points from the free throw line to coast to the win.

California lost despite a 48-34 edge in points in the paint.
