Recap: Cincinnati vs. Wright State

Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - JaQuon Parker poured in a game-high 21 points as 11th-ranked Cincinnati defeated Wright State, 68-58, on Saturday.

Sean Kilpatrick dropped in 12 and Titus Rubles added 11 points and nine boards for the Bearcats (12-0), who improved to 8-0 at home this season.

"That was a great game for us today. Really hard team to play with our style because you can't press them," said Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin. "They are too well-coached and they have too quick of a point guard. We couldn't have trapped him with two guys. I may have been able to run three at him, but he may have gotten by all three of them."

Jerran Young had 14 points and 10 rebounds and JT Yoho scored 13 for the Raiders (8-4), who are 0-9 all-time against Cincinnati.

"We had an opportunity to be up 15 points at the half. There's no question if you go back and look at the film. We shot 25 percent, you guys know basketball," said Wright State head coach Billy Donlon. "We shot 25 percent in the first half, we shot 39 percent in the second half and we had much easier shots in the first half than in the second. When you come on the road and you have the opportunity to make some shots, you've got to make them. You have to make them."

Wright State led 15-11 just past the midway point of the first half when Yoho buried a 3-ball, but Cincinnati used a 7-0 surge to take an 18-15 lead with just over seven minutes to go.

The Raiders, though, closed the half on a 14-4 run and took a 28-22 lead into the break.

The Bearcats opened the second half on a 14-6 burst to take a 36-34 with just five minutes played and never looked back.

Cincinnati scored the next nine points to go up 45-35, but Wright State was able to shave the lead to 45-39 with 11:53 left.

The Bearcats used a 15-6 run to go up 60-45 at the 6:06 mark. Kendall Griffin nailed a triple before adding a layup with 44 seconds left to pull the Raiders within 66-58, but Wright State failed to score the rest of the way and Cincinnati held on for the win.

Game Notes

The Bearcats outscored the Raiders 36-18 in the paint and 25-9 on second- chance points ... Wright State had a three-game winning streak snapped.
