Recap: Oregon vs. Portland State

Eugene, OR (Sports Network) - Dominic Artis scored a game-high 16 points as he helped guide the Oregon Ducks to an 80-69 win over the Portland State Vikings in non-conference action at Matthew Knight Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Ducks (2-0) were Carlos Emory and Damyean Dotson who came off the bench to contribute 15 and 12 points, respectively.

The Vikings (1-1) were led by Renado Parker and Dre Winston who responded with 15 points apiece in the team's first setback of the campaign.

Ahead by seven points eight minutes into the first half, the Ducks put together a 13-0 run to assume control in the period and post a 51-33 advantage at the break. Oregon knocked down not only 58.1 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes, the hosts also connected on 7-of-10 behind the three- point line.

In the second half the Ducks cooled dramatically, hitting a mere 37.5 percent from the field and 2-of-9 on the perimeter, but still the squad was able to capture the double-digit win.

Oregon, which led from the opening tip, picked up 43 points from reserves, compared to just 14 points for the PSU bench players.
