Recap: Memphis vs. Loyola-Maryland

Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Joe Jackson scored 22 points to lead the Memphis Tigers to a 78-64 win over the Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds in non- conference action at FedExForum.

Jackson also handed out seven assists for Memphis (9-3) which has won seven of its last eight. Shaq Goodwin added 15 points and Geron Johnson chipped in 10 points.

Loyola-Maryland (9-5) was paced by Dylon Cormier who scored a game-high 25 points. Erik Etherly tacked on 15 points and was a rebound shy of a double- double before fouling out. Robert Olson tallied 11 points for the Greyhounds who have lost four of their last six.

Memphis led 37-33 at halftime despite shooting just 41.7 percent from the field. The Tigers hit on 5-of-8 shots from beyond the arc in the period and held Loyola-Maryland to 31.6 percent shooting.

The Tigers improved to 48.0 percent shooting and outscored the Greyhounds 17-4 from the free throw line in the second half.

Loyola-Maryland lost despite a 25-3 advantage in second chance points. Memphis converted 19 Greyhounds turnovers into 27 points.
