Recap: Air Force vs. Montana State

USAFA, CO (Sports Network) - Michael Lyons erupted for 29 points as the Air Force Falcons handed the Montana State Bobcats an 86-72 defeat at Clune Arena.

Lyons hit 11-of-15 shots from the field for Air Force (5-0) which remains unbeaten. Taylor Broekhuis had 13 points and seven rebounds, Todd Fletcher chipped in 10 points and Mike Fitzgerald had a game-high nine rebounds.

Flavien Davis scored 17 points to pace Montana State (1-2). Antonio Biglow added 12 while Xavier Blount and Calen Coleman scored 13 and 12, respectively, off the bench.

At the end of a nip-and-tuck first half Air Force held a slim 40-39 lead after shooting 51.7 percent from the floor including 6-of-13 from beyond the arc.

The Flacons improved to 66.7 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes to pull away for the double-digit victory.

Montana State shot 43.5 percent in the game and was on the short end of a 39-28 differential in rebounds. Air Force had 25 assists as a team.
