Recap: Rice vs. Tulane

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Ricky Tarrant dropped in a season-high 30 points to lead the Tulane Green Wave to an 89-64 victory over the Rice Owls in Conference USA action at Tudor Fieldhouse.

Tarrant finished with the highest point total for a Tulane (18-9, 6-6 C-USA) player this season. Josh Davis added a double-double with 23 points and 16 rebounds, as the Green Wave won for the fifth time in their last six outings.

The Owls (5-21, 1-11), losers of six in a row, were led by Max Guercy and Tamir Jackson, who each scored 19 points.

Tulane took a 36-25 lead at intermission by shooting 48.1 percent from the field while holding Rice to just 38.1 percent.

Tulane improved to 50 percent from the floor after intermission as it pushed its lead to as many a 27 points.

The Green Wave converted 14 Rice turnovers into 21 points. They also outscored the Owls in second chance points, 25-2, and won the rebounding battle, 39-23.
