Recap: SMU vs. Utah

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Jalen Jones recorded an impressive double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds as he led the SMU Mustangs to a 62-55 win over the Utah Runnin' Utes at Moody Coliseum.

Jones finished 8-of-18 from the floor for SMU (7-1), while Ryan Manuel added 14 points and Shawn Williams contributed 10 in the triumph.

Jarred DuBois, who knocked down 5-of-6 shots behind the three-point line, led all scorers with 25 points for Utah (4-2) in the loss. Jordan Loveridge added a double-double performance with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

SMU took control in the first half after converting 6-of-8 three-point attempts in order to take a 35-25 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Mustangs made only 6-of-25 shots from the floor, but the team survived by connecting on all but one of 16 shots at the charity stripe.

The Utes were saddled with 17 turnovers and outscored at the free-throw line by an 18-2 margin.
