Recap: USC vs. Oregon State

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - A layup by Aaron Fuller with six seconds lifted the USC Trojans to a 69-68 decision over the Oregon State Beavers in a hard-fought Pac-12 Conference battle at the Galen Center.

Byron Wesley scored a team-high 19 points for the Trojans (8-11, 3-3 Pac-12) as they picked up their victory in three games. Eric Wise recorded 18 points and five rebounds. J.T. Terrell chipped in 11 points and five rebounds. Fuller's game-winning layup was his only basket in the contest.

For the Beavers (10-8, 0-5), Roberto Nelson scored a game-high 26 points. Devon Collier tallied 16 points and was just two boards shy of a double- double. Joe Burton also provided 16 points as Oregon State fell to a five game losing streak.

USC started out the game on a 6-2 run and led for the majority of the first half before it took a 39-31 lead into the intermission. The Trojans hit 51.7 percent of their attempts from the field and limited the Beavers to 40.7 percent shooting from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

Although USC started the second stanza out with a 6-0 run that pushed its lead to 15 points, the game delivered an exciting finish. Oregon State chipped away at the Trojans' lead by converting 10-of-14 at the free throw line in the second half. Burton made a go-ahead layup with 12 seconds left to give the Beavers a 68-67 lead before Fuller's late game heroics. Collier had one last chance to win it for OSU in the closing seconds, but Wise rejected the attempt to seal the deal.

The victory was the first by USC's interim head coach Bob Cantu since he took over the program on Jan. 14.
