Wichita, KS (Sports Network) - The Wichita State Shockers overcame a late deficit by scoring the final 10 points of the game to complete a 59-51 comeback victory over the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in a non-conference tilt at Intrust Bank Arena.

Demetric Williams led the way with 17 points for Wichita State (11-1), which has won two straight following its only loss of the season on Dec. 13. Nick Wiggins put up 12 points, and Cleanthony Early chipped in 10 points.

Jerrold Brooks paced all scorers with 18 points for Southern Miss (8-4), while Dwayne Davis and Neil Watson netted 13 and 12 points, respectively.

The Eagles continued to struggle after the break, making 33.3 percent of their field goal attempts, while the Shockers improved to 50 percent. A Neil Watson 3-pointer with 3:22 left to play gave Southern Miss a 51-49 lead, but it would not score another point as Wichita State surged ahead down the stretch.

The Shockers held a dominating 44-26 advantage on the boards, which helped overcome a game-high 19 turnovers.
