Recap: UCLA vs. Long Beach State

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Jordan Adams scored 24 points to lead the UCLA Bruins to an 89-70 victory over the Long Beach State 49ers in an intrastate matchup at Pauley Pavilion.

Shabazz Muhammad added 21 points and six rebounds for UCLA (8-3) which has won three straight games. Larry Drew finished with 14 points and handed out nine assists while David Wear tacked on 11 points off the bench.

Dan Jennings had a game-high 27 points for Long Beach State (4-8) which has lost four of its last five games. James Ennis added 20 points, six rebounds and four assists while Peter Pappageorge tallied 10 points.

Both teams shot well in the first half. UCLA hit on 54.5 percent of its field goal attempts and led 47-38 at intermission. Long Beach State shot at a 51.7 percent clip in the first 20 minutes.

The Bruins really turned it on in the second half, nailing 65.2 percent of their field goal attempts, to pull away for the win.

Long Beach State lost despite outscoring UCLA 38-30 on points in the paint. UCLA converted 12 49er turnovers into 16 points while turning the ball over just seven times as a team.
