Recap: Boise State vs. Louisiana

Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Derrick Marks scored 14 points, leading three in double figures, as the Boise State Broncos captured a 63-57 win over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns in non-conference action at Taco Bell Arena.

Mikey Thompson came off the bench to add 13 points in 26 minutes for the Broncos (3-0) as they remained undefeated after three games. Anthony Drmic contributed 11 points and eight rebounds and Jeff Elorriaga cleared 10 rebounds and made three steals for the hosts.

The Ragin' Cajuns (1-2) were paced by Alan-Michael Thompson and Elfrid Payton who both tallied 12 points, the latter adding six rebounds and five assists in the losing cause.

Both teams shot under 40 percent from the floor in the first half, and yet with just 2-of-12 accuracy behind the three-point line in the period the Broncos trailed by only two points at the break, 28-26.

Boise State, which led by as many as 14 points midway through the first half, again had trouble out on the perimeter in the second half (2-of-8), but the squad managed to outscore Louisiana at the free-throw line after intermission, 11-3, in order to claim the win.

In a game that experienced eight ties and just as many lead changes, the hosts built a 41-29 rebounding advantage, with 14 coming at the offensive end of the floor.
