Recap: Washington vs. Cal State Fullerton

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - C.J. Wilcox scored 21 points, including the game-winning free throws in the final seconds, as the Washington Huskies overcame a double-digit halftime deficit to defeat the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 74-72, in a non-conference showdown at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Desmond Simmons tallied 14 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for Washington (4-3). Andrew Andrews logged 13 points and five assists, and Aziz N'Diaye added 12 points.

For Fullerton (3-4), D.J. Seeley led all scorers with 24 points on 9-of-17 from the field. Kwame Vaughn and Alex Harris chipped in 14 points apiece for the Titans.

Fullerton appeared to be in great shape after heading into the halftime locker room up 43-29. The Titans made 47.4 percent of their field goal attempts in the opening half, while the Huskies shot just 30 percent.

Washington chipped away at the lead in the second half and eventually tied the game at 63-63 on a Simmons jumper with 4:23 remaining. After the teams went on the see-saw for a few minutes, three free throws by Andrews with under 30 seconds to play gave the Huskies a 72-69 lead. The Titans answered with a game-tying three-pointer by Harris with seven seconds remaining, but Wilcox drew a foul with three seconds left and drilled both attempts. Fullerton had one last chance to tie or take the lead but a Harris three-pointer did not fall.

The Huskies made the Titans pay at the foul line, making 22-of-30 free throws attempts. Fullerton was a non-factor at the stripe (5-of-10).
