Recap: Cal Poly vs. Fresno State

San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Kevin Foster had a game-high 28 points and came a rebound shy of a double-double to lead the Fresno State Bulldogs past the Cal Poly Mustangs, 76-67, in a non-conference bout at Mott Gym.

Fresno State (3-1) also got 17 points from Kevin Olekaibe and 14 from Allen Huddleston.

Chris Eversley paced Cal Poly (1-2) with 14 points and seven rebounds. Dylan Royer added 12 points and Jamal Johnson had 10 points and five assists.

In the first half Fresno State shot 53.8 percent from the field including a 6-of-11 showing from 3-point range to earn a 37-30 lead at the half. The Mustangs hit on only 40.9 percent of its first half field goal attempts.

Both teams heated up in the second half but the Bulldogs were yet again the superior team connecting on 57.1 percent of its shots to a 51.7 percent showing for the Mustangs.

Fresno State outscored the Mustangs 27-15 from beyond the arc and had a 31-22 edge in rebounds.
