Recap: Cal Poly vs. Northern Colorado

San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Chris Eversley posted a 21-point, 10- rebound double-double as the Cal Poly Mustangs bested the Northern Colorado Bears 64-53

Dylan Royer was the only other player in double figures for Cal Poly (1-1) with 13 points.

Tevin Svihovec put in 14 points to lead Northern Colorado (1-1) which had no other player reach double figures. Derrick Barden finished with a team-high nine rebounds.

The first half was a tight affair with Northern Colorado holding a slim 22-21 lead at the break behind 36.0 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes. On the other side Cal Poly netted just 25.8 percent of its shots in the first period.

The second half was a different story with the Mustangs heating up to 43.5 percent shooting while outscoring the Bears 18-4 from the free throw line and 15-3 from beyond the arc.

Cal Poly forced 14 turnovers while only committing five itself.
