Recap: Cal Poly vs. Hawaii

San Luis Obispo, CA (Sports Network) - Chris Eversley scored 19 points on 8- of-11 shooting to lead the Cal Poly Mustangs to an 88-59 rout of the Hawaii Warriors in Big West matchup at Mott Gymnasium.

Brian Bennett added 17 points and nine rebounds while Morgan Reese hit 4-of-8 from behind the arc en route to 16 points for Cal Poly (8-9, 4-3 Big West), which outrebounded Hawaii, 38-21. Drake U'u chipped in 14 points and a game- high eight assists, matching the visitors' assist total by himself.

Isaac Ford and Christian Standhardinger each netted 14 points for Hawaii (10-9, 4-4) while Brandon Jawato scored 12 points off the bench, including triples at the end of each half.

Cal Poly came out with a lot of intensity on the defensive end, forcing 11 turnovers in the opening period. The Mustangs shot 50 percent and led 38-26.

The hot shooting continued for Cal Poly in the second half as it connected on 63 percent from the field while Hawaii struggled, connecting on just 33.3 percent. The Mustangs also controlled the glass in the second half, outrebounding Hawaii 22-8.

Cal Poly now leads the all-time series, 3-1.
