Recap: Nevada vs. UNLV

Reno, NV (Sports Network) - Mike Moser made his way back into the starting lineup for UNLV and posted 20 points and eight rebounds for the Runnin' Rebels as they defeated the Nevada Wolf Pack, 80-63, in Mountain West Conference action at the Lawlor Events Center.

Moser, who assumed a starting forward spot due to the shoulder injury to Anthony Bennett, shot 4-of-6 behind the 3-point line for the Runnin' Rebels (22-7, 9-5 MWC) as they posted their fourth straight win. Bryce Dejean-Jones accounted for 17 points, Katin Reinhardt 14, Anthony Marshall 11 points and Khem Birch 10 points, to go along with six rebounds and seven blocked shots.

Nevada (12-16, 3-11) was paced by Malik Story with 24 points on 10-of-21 shooting from the field, followed by Deonte Burton with 18 points, but he shot only 6-of-18 from the floor and missed all four of his 3-point tries as the team fell for the eighth time in nine outings. Kevin Panzer pitched in with 10 points.

UNLV scored the first points of the afternoon and never looked back, shooting an impressive 51.6 percent from the floor, including 7-of-13 beyond the arc, en route to a 46-25 advantage at the break. The hosts shot just 29.0 percent from the field and missed all seven tries on the perimeter.

In the second half the Pack picked up the pace with 50 percent accuracy from the floor, but by then it was too late as the visitors claimed the 17-point win in the battle for state bragging rights.

UNLV made good on 10-of-18 beyond the arc while limiting Nevada to only 3- of-15 on the outside.
