Recap: Eastern Wash vs. Cal State Fullerton

Cheney, WA (Sports Network) - Venky Jois had 22 points and 13 rebounds to help the Eastern Washington Eagles overcome a second half deficit to defeat the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 79-75, in non-conference action at Reese Court.

Justin Crosgile tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists for EWU (2-5). Thomas Reuter also scored 16 points, and Parker Kelly chipped in 12 points off the bench.

For Fullerton (3-3), Kwame Vaughn put up 22 points and D.J. Seeley scored 21 points.

EWU outshot Fullerton from the field in the first half, 46.9 percent to 44.7 percent, but the Titans were able to take a 46-39 lead into intermission thanks to a 6-of-12 showing from three-point range.

Fullerton's lead grew to nine at the 15:42 mark of the second half before EWU started to mount its comeback. With the game tied 64-64 with just over four minutes remaining, Jeffery Forbes drilled a jumper to give the Eagles the lead, and they were able to hold on by making 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the final minute.

The Eagles committed a game-high 19 turnovers, but they were able to make up for those miscues by outrebounding Fullerton, 40-33.
