Santa Barbara, CA (Sports Network) - Alan Williams posted a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds, as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos defeated the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 66-50, in a Big West Conference battle at the Thunderdome.

For the Gauchos (10-19, 6-11 Big West), Michael Bryson added 14 points, Taran Brown scored 11 points and Kyle Boswell chipped in with 10 points.

Kwame Vaughn led the Titans (14-16, 6-11) with 20 points, while Alex Harris tallied 11 points.

In the opening period, both teams struggled to make shots. UCSB made only 37.5 percent of its field goal tries but was able to take a slim, 23-22, lead into intermission. CSF shot just 34.8 percent from the field and missed all but one of its seven shots from 3-point distance.

In the second half, the Gauchos heated up from the field, connecting on 50 percent of their shots, including 3-of-10 from 3-point range. The Titans continued to have difficulty finding the basket, making just 36 percent of their field goal tries and 2-of-8 from 3-point distance. UCSB opened the half on a 13-4 run and never trailed again, as it secured the home victory.

The Gauchos dominated down low, outrebounding the Titans 42-25, and outscoring them in the paint, 40-14.
