Recap: Cal State Fullerton vs. CS-Northridge

Fullerton, CA (Sports Network) - Josh Greene and Stephen Maxwell each posted double-doubles as the Cal State Northridge Matadors took down the Cal State Fullerton Titans, 92-86, in Big West Conference play at Titan Gym.

Green had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Maxwell scored 16 points to go with 11 boards for Cal State Northridge (11-11. 2-8 Big West) which had lost eight of its last nine. Also in double figures for the Matadors were Tre Hale-Edmerson (17 points), Lonnie Watson (11) and Brandon Perry (11).

Kwame Vaughn scored 28 points and handed out eight assists, D.J. Seeley netted 22 points and Sammy Yeager dropped in 21 points for Cal State Fullerton (11-10, 4-5) which has lost four of its last five.

The Matadors shot 51.4 percent from the field, while holding the Titans to just nine field goals in the first half, to take a 39-29 lead at the break.

Although the Titans heated up to 60 percent shooting, including a 7-of-15 effort from beyond the arc, they could not overcome the Matadors. Cal State Northridge knocked down 55.6 percent of its shots in the final 20 minutes and 20-of-27 from the free throw line.

In the game Cal State Northridge had a 31-20 edge in rebounds. Cal State Fullerton forced a game-high 21 turnovers but had just a 15-13 advantage in points off of takeaways.
