Recap: Rutgers vs. South Florida

Piscataway, NJ (Sports Network) - Wally Judge scored 14 points on 7-of-8 from the floor to lead the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to a 70-67 win over the South Florida Bulls in a Big East Conference clash at the RAC.

Myles Mack and Eli Carter added 13 points apiece for Rutgers (12-4, 3-2 Big East), which won for the third time in its last four contests.

Jawanza Poland scored 17 points off the bench to pace USF (9-7, 0-4). Anthony Collins and Victor Rudd each scored 11 points, while JaVontae Hawkins netted 10. Collins also recorded a game-high eight assists.

USF came out as the aggressors and shot 56 percent in the first half, as it went into halftime with a 30-27 advantage. Rutgers shot a modest 42.3 percent in the opening 20 minutes, but it outscored the Bulls at the line, 3-0.

Rutgers regained the lead early in the second half after Jerome Seagears hit his only shot from 3-point range at the 18:37 mark. The Scarlet Knights never relinquished the lead from that moment on and led 70-67 with 1:26 remaining after a Collins jumper. After empty possessions each way, USF had one final look at the basket, but Brock's 3-point attempt was off the mark as the home team held on to win.

Rutgers took care of the ball, turning it over just six times. They improved to 7-5 all-time over South Florida.
