Recap: Rutgers vs. Seton Hall

Piscataway, NJ (Sports Network) - Eli Carter scored 14 points in 21 minutes of action as he helped guide the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to a 57-55 win over the Seton Hall Pirates in Big East Conference play at the RAC.

Also scoring in double figures for the Scarlet Knights (13-10, 4-8 Big East) was Mack Myles with 10 points as the team snapped a six-game slide.

Edwin Fuquan was the top scorer overall in the outing with 18 points for Seton Hall (13-12, 2-10), followed by Eugene Teague and Brandon Mobley with 12 and 10 points, respectively, as the team's losing streak was extended to six in a row.

Rutgers scored the first points of the contest and never looked back, moving out to a 30-25 advantage at the break after holding the visitors to just 7- of-23 (.304) from the floor in the period.

In the second half the Knights pushed their advantage as high as 13 points at the 9:33 mark of the frame, but even as the Pirates cut the deficit down the stretch the hosts still held on for the victory.

The Scarlet Knights pulled out the win despite shooting only 39.1 percent from the floor and 16-of-25 at the charity stripe.
