LBSU maintained its lead throughout the second half until Jawato hit his fourth 3-pointer of the game to tie the score at 72-72 with 1:08 remaining. After empty possessions by each team, LBSU inbounded to Caffey, who took the ball the length of the floor and hit a jumper to take the lead. The 49ers added a pair of free throws to seal the victory.

LBSU has now won three consecutive games, and it holds a 7-5 advantage over Hawaii in the all-time series.
