Recap: Long Beach State vs. UC Irvine

Long Beach, CA (Sports Network) - James Ennis scored 17 points for the Long Beach State 49ers who earned an 81-59 Big West Conference victory over the UC Irvine Anteaters at the Walter Pyramid.

Ennis was 5-of-8 from 3-point range for the 49ers (11-8, 7-1 Big West), who earned their sixth consecutive win. Dan Jennings and Keala King each pulled down seven rebounds while Jennings scored 14 points and King added 10. Peter Pappageorge managed 11 points off the bench shooting 2-of-3 from 3-point range.

Will Davis II led all scorers and rebounders as he recorded a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Anteaters (10-11, 4-4), who lost their second in a row. Chris McNealy was the only other player in double-figure scoring for Irvine with 10 points off just 4-of-13 shooting from the field.

Long Beach State shot 54.2 percent from the field in the first half as it took a 37-32 lead into the break.

The 49ers were completely dominant in the second half, outscoring the Anteaters 44-17, shooting 59.3 percent from the floor and holding Irvine to 34.5 percent shooting.

Long Beach State was 11-of-19 from long-range while the Anteaters were 7- of-20.
