Recap: Gonzaga vs. Pacific

Spokane, WA (Sports Network) - Sam Dower dropped in a game-high 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting and ripped down nine rebounds, as the 12th-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs took care of Pacific, 85-67, on Saturday at McCarthey Athletic Center.

Elias Harris netted 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting while Kelly Olynyk hit seven of his nine shots from the field en route to 15 points for the Bulldogs (8-0), who have won their first five home games this season. Kevin Pangos donated 12 points in the victory.

Travis Fulton netted 15 points and Lorenzo McCloud put home 14 points for Pacific (3-4), which has lost back-to-back games on the heels of a two-game winning streak. Trevin Harris added 11 points in the setback.

Pacific had control of the game early, holding an 18-10 lead with 13 minutes to play in the opening session.

The Bulldogs, though, turned it on over the remainder of the half by using a 14-2 surge to grab a 24-20 advantage with under eight minutes to play in the session.

Olynyk keyed the flurry for the Bulldogs, netting nine points over that span. A pair of free throws by Pangos pushed the lead into double digits for Gonzaga, which closed the half by outscoring Pacific 12-7 to assume a 49-34 advantage at the break.

Pacific never got close in the second 20 minutes as a deep 3-ball by Gary Bell Jr with just over 10 minutes to play pushed the Bulldogs' lead past the 20- point threshold, 67-45. Gonzaga cruised the rest of the way.
