Logan, UT (Sports Network) - J.T. Adenrele registered a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds as he helped lead the UC Davis Aggies to a 78-70 win over the Southern Illinois Salukis as part of the World Vision Basketball Challenge at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Although he shot just 4-of-14 from the floor and missed all five of his attempts beyond the arc, Corey Hawkins finished with a team-best 20 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists for the Aggies (3-6) as they won their second straight outing. Ryan Sypkens accounted for 15 points and Ryan Howley a game-high 15 rebounds off the bench for UC Davis.

SIU shot a mere 38.9 percent from the floor in the first half, including 3- of-11 from behind the 3-point line, and still the team held a 31-29 advantage at the break.

The second half belonged to the Aggies as they connected on not just 52.0 percent from the field but also an impressive 19-of-20 at the free-throw line to seal the eight-point win.

In a game that featured five ties and 13 lead changes, the Aggies overcame 16 turnovers by producing a 44-30 edge in rebounding.

This event continues for both teams on Friday as the Aggies take on host Utah State and SIU battles Nicholls State.
