Recap: UC Riverside vs. UC Davis

Riverside, CA (Sports Network) - Ryan Sypkens scored 16 points and J.T. Adenrele had a double-double as the UC Aggies defeated the UC Riverside Highlanders, 59-52, in a Big West Conference bout at SRC Arena.

Adenrele had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Tyler Les added 10 points for UC Davis (13-14, 8-7 Big West) which has won four of its last five games.

Chris Patton also posted a double-double (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Robert Smith collected 11 rebounds for UC Riverside (6-22, 3-12) which has lost nine of its last 10.

UC Davis rolled out to a 37-22 lead at halftime by shooting 44.4 percent from the field while hitting five shots from beyond the arc. UC Riverside had just nine field goals on 34.6 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes.

After halftime the Aggies cooled to 36.8 percent shooting while only registering seven field goals. The Highlanders improved to 40.6 percent shooting from the floor, but it wasn't nearly enough as they got no closer the five points in the second period.

UC Riverside had the edge in points in the paint (24-18) while UC Davis was the superior team from beyond the arc (24-15).
