Recap: Pepperdine vs. UC Riverside

Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Jordan Baker scored a game-high 13 points off the bench as the Pepperdine Waves captured a convincing 62-40 win over the UC Riverside Highlanders in non-conference action at Firestone Fieldhouse.

Also scoring in double figures for the Waves (5-3), as they logged their fifth win in the last six outings, were Nikolas Skouen and Lorne Jackson with 11 points apiece.

The Highlanders (2-7) failed to have a single player score in double figures, with Josh Fox and Chris Patton coming close with eight points each in the team's fourth loss in the last five games.

UCR led by as many as eight points in the first half, but the team ended up converting a total of just seven field goals in the period, en route to a 25-19 deficit at the break.

In the second half the Highlanders continued to struggle from the floor, hitting only 9-of-33 opportunities, as Pepperdine pulled away for the 22-point victory.

In addition to shooting only 28.6 percent from the floor, UCR made just two free throws and turned the ball over 15 times.
