Recap: UC Santa Barbara vs. Wyoming

Santa Barbara, CA (Sports Network) - Luke Martinez scored a game-high 17 points as he led the Wyoming Cowboys to a commanding 68-40 win over the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara in non-conference action at the Thunderdome.

Also scoring in double figures for the Cowboys (7-0) were Derrious Gilmore and Larry Nance, Jr. with 12 points apiece and a combined 11 rebounds.

The Gauchos (2-4) were paced by Alan Williams who tallied 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds before fouling out, while Kyle Boswell contributed 10 points off the bench.

UCSB shot just 34.6 percent from the floor in the first half, the team failing to make it to the free-throw line in the period, which allowed the visitors to move out to a 34-21 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Gauchos responded by making only 23.3 percent from the field, en route to the disappointing setback.

The hosts turned the ball over 18 times and were outscored at the charity stripe, 23-2.
