Recap: Penn vs. Villanova

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Achraf Yacoubou scored 13 points off the bench for the Villanova Wildcats as they defeated the Penn Quakers 68-55 in a Philadelphia showdown at The Palestra.

Yacoubou was 4-of-7 from the field and pulled down six rebounds for the Wildcats (5-4), who earned a much needed win after losing four of their previous five games. Ryan Arcidiacono added 12 points while Mouphtaou Yarou and JayVaughn Pinkston each tallied 10.

Miles Cartwright scored 16 points while going 10-for-10 from the free-throw line or the Quakers (2-7), who have lost seven of their last eight games. Steve Rennard added 12 points and three steals in the loss.

Villanova led 35-27 at halftime after holding Penn to just 23.5 percent shooting from the field.

In the second half, the Wildcats outscored the Quakers 33-28 with the help of 14 points off Penn turnovers.

Villanova turned 17 Quaker turnovers into 23 points en route to the victory.
