Recap: Bradley vs. Ga Southern

Peoria, IL (Sports Network) - Tyshon Pickett recorded a double-double as the Bradley Braves cruised by the Georgia Southern Eagles, 62-43, in the first round of the 2012 Las Vegas Classic at Carver Arena.

Pickett scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Bradley (7-2), making 9-of-11 foul shots in the process. Will Egolf scored 12 points and pulled down eight boards in the triumph.

C.J. Reed recorded 10 points but was the only player to score in double- figures for the Eagles (4-6), who shot just 35.4 percent from the field. Cleon Roberts chipped in nine points but turned the ball over five times.

Both teams struggled shooting in the first half. Bradley was just 11-of-33 from the floor, but it was good enough to go into halftime with a 29-18 lead. Georgia Southern was only 8-of-21 in the opening 20 minutes.

Bradley kept its lead throughout the second half, helping its cause by going 12-of-14 from the charity stripe after the break.

The Braves dominated the on the glass, 45-32, and it also scored 17 points off of 13 Eagles' turnovers.
