Recap: Northern Iowa vs. Bradley

Cedar Falls, IA (Sports Network) - Marc Sonnen led six Panthers in double figures with 21 points as the Northern Iowa Panthers cruised by the Bradley Braves, 84-53, in Missouri Valley Conference play at the McLeod Center.

Sonnen was 7-of-9 from 3-point range in the Panthers (9-8, 2-3 MVC) victory. Jake Koch recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, Seth Tuttle was two rebounds shy of a double-double scoring 13 points. Deon Mitchell had seven assists and 15 points, Anthony James and Matt Bohannon scored 11 points each as Northern Iowa won for the second time in its last three games.

For the Braves (10-7, 2-3), Jalen Crawford scored a team-high off the bench with 13 points. Dyricus Simms-Edwards chipped in 12 points and four steals as Bradley fell for the third time in as many games.

UNI opened up the game on a 22-2 run and never looked back, eventually taking a 41-14 advantage into the half as it held the visitors to just 5-of-22 shooting from the field.

Bradley was 7-of-11 from long range and 16-of-28 from the floor in the second but it was not enough to overcome the 27-point Panther lead at the break.

UNI was a sensational 15-of-26 from beyond the arc and also controlled the boards, 37-19.
